Holiday Trading Hours & Emergency Contacts

As the holiday period approaches we wanted to inform you that i-Protect will be taking a break over Christmas and we’d like to take the opportunity to thank our clients, insurers and advocates for their support throughout 2017.

Holiday Trading Hours

i-Protect will be closed with our last working day on 22nd of December and we will reopen on 2nd of January 2018 with limited staff. The majority of our team will be back on deck on 8th January 2018.

We ask that any foreseen insurance quotes, enquiries or claims are lodged prior to our closure date to ensure there are no delays.

Emergency Contacts

We know that your needs for insurance and in particular claims can be unpredictable, we will have emergency contacts available to ensure your insurance needs are managed through the holiday period. For emergencies during this time you can get in touch by:

  • Emailing us at info@i-protect.net.au this email account will be checked by our staff everyday over the holidays;
  • Phoning our switch 1300 724 436, you can leave a message for our team, our staff will be checking our voicemail everyday and get back to you as soon as they can.

Publicly funded construction sites to have mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Recent amendments to the Building Code 2013 will require contractors on publicly-funded construction sites to have a policy in place for mandatory drug and alcohol testing on 16 October 2015.

Former Employment Minister Eric Abetz has been quoted as saying “Safety is a paramount consideration on construction sites. It is simply an unacceptable risk to the health and safety of employees and the public to have workers affected by drugs or alcohol on construction sites”.

Icare changing the state of play.

Insurance and Care (icare Workers Insurance, formerly WorkCover NSW) have announced that from early January 2017 icare will directly administer the policy and billing requirements under the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme.

There will be no change to claims management under the Scheme, or your current claims management contacts or services.
